AGM 2020

Following our AGM, we would like to say a big thank you again to all those who have served on the management committee over the last year. 

We now have the 5 committee members required by our constitution as a registered charity, but more committee members are always welcome. You don't need to have any experience, just a willingness to support Preschool.  The minimum commitment is 3 meetings each year with other support with fundraising activities completely optional. Please think carefully about whether this is something you can offer.

The Pre-school management committee would like to invite you to attend our annual general meeting, which will be held at via Zoom or similar video platform on Tuesday 6th October at 7.30pm. The meeting itself usually lasts approximately 1 hour and includes reports from the Chairperson, Treasurer, Manager and any other business, before the election of the management committee for the coming year. This year we are also proposing to alter the constitution of our charity and I urge you to read the information about this so we can make an informed decision to start this process. North Leigh Pre-school is a charity, with our management committee a central part of the way Preschool is run. The committee provides oversight and support for the administration of the charity as well as fundraising to provide resources and repairs to our building.

 

We would love some more members to join the team. Being a committee member involves attending three meetings per year, as well as the AGM. There are also additional less formal fundraising meetings, usually held at a pub or someone’s house. These meetings are optional and for those who can offer some extra help in order to organise each fundraising event we run. We rely on fundraising to supplement the running costs of Pre-school, and as such we need to highlight the importance of supporting us in any way you can as we can only continue to thrive with the support of our wonderful parents and carers.

 

There are many ways you can help. Over the coming months we will need to be imaginative with fundraising ideas as so many of our usual events will not be able to go ahead. Normally fundraising roles include making cakes and running cake sales and helping at other events through the year, such as the School fairs. There is no obligation to attend or help at every event, however we really would value your time and support and we welcome new ideas and approaches.

As a few committee members will be standing down there will be officer roles that need to be filled, including Secretary and Treasurer. Information regarding these roles is available to the right, but do get in touch with Angela or myself if you would like more details.

 

If you are interested in joining the committee please complete and return the self-nomination form. Hard copies are available from Preschool. This doesn’t commit you to anything, but it would be very helpful to know how many people will be attending the AGM and if committee roles are likely to be filled.
